Thigh Lift
A thigh lift is a surgical procedure performed to improve the contour of the thighs. It is commonly performed to counteract the effects of aging or after weight loss. Often it can be combined with another body contouring procedure. A consultation with Dr. Dec will help determine if you are an appropriate candidate for a thigh lift and help you understand the risks and benefits of surgery.
During a thigh lift excess skin and fat are removed from your thighs and the remaining skin is repositioned. The incisions are designed to hide in your inner thighs. The procedure takes approximately two to three hours.
After surgery your thighs will feel tender. Dr. Dec will prescribe medications to reduce pain and risk of infection. You should expect to have drains after surgery. Most patients leave the hospital the same day, and are then cared for by a private duty nurse until the next day.
Bruising and swelling around the inner thighs are normal and usually take two to three weeks to resolve. Scars soften and fade over the course of several months. You may resume mild activities the day after surgery and strenuous activities after four to six weeks. You will see an improved thigh contour immediately after surgery, which will continue to improve as you heal.
