A breast augmentation is a surgical procedure performed to increase the size of the breasts using implants.  A consultation with Dr. Dec will help determine if you are an appropriate candidate for a breast augmentation and help you understand the risks and benefits of surgery. 

 

During the consultation you will learn more about options for your breast augmentation, including:

 

• Implant sizes and shapes

• Implant materials (silicone or saline)

• Implant positions (above or below the pectoralis muscle)

• Incisions (breast crease, around the areola, underarm)

 

The procedure takes approximately two hours.  After surgery your breasts may feel tender. Dr. Dec will prescribe medications to reduce pain and risk of infection.  Patients typically return home the same day. 

 

Bruising and swelling around the breasts are normal and usually take two to three weeks to resolve.  You may resume mild activities the day after surgery and strenuous activities after one month.  You will see an increase in your breast size immediately after surgery.
