Facial wrinkles form when the muscles of facial expression contract and fold the overlying skin like an accordion.  Over time these skin changes can become permanent.  Fillers, such as Collagen or Juvederm, can be placed underneath individual wrinkles to decrease their prominence.  Additionally, fillers can be used to soften the nasolabial lines, decrease minor contour irregularities in the nose, and enhance the appearance of the lips.  A consultation with Dr. Dec will help determine if you are an appropriate candidate to receive facial fillers and help you understand the risks and benefits of the treatment. 

 

Fillers are delivered as an injection into areas of the face where a smoother contour is desirable.  Often Fillers can be combined with Botox to treat deep wrinkles.  The procedure takes less than 30 minutes. 

 

The effects of fillers are visible immediately and the benefits can last six months or longer.  Sometimes bruising and swelling of the treated area may occur but this typically resolves in less than one week.
