Liposuction is a surgical procedure performed to remove excess fat from the body.  A consultation with Dr. Dec will help determine if you are an appropriate candidate for liposuction and help you understand the risks and benefits of surgery. 

Liposuction is performed through small incisions in the areas being treated.  The procedure takes approximately one to two hours depending on how many areas are treated.

 

After surgery the treated areas will feel tender.  Dr. Dec will prescribe medications to reduce pain and risk of infection.  Patients typically return home the same day.

 

Bruising and swelling are normal and usually take one to two weeks to resolve.  You may resume mild activities the day after surgery and strenuous activities after one month.  You will see an improved contour when the surgical swelling resolves.
