The appearance of a small chin can be improved with a chin implant.  A consultation with Dr. Dec will help determine if you are an appropriate candidate for a chin augmentation and help you understand the risks and benefits of surgery. 

A properly sized chin implant is inserted through an incision hidden in a natural crease below the chin.  The procedure takes approximately one hour and can be done alone or in combination with a rhinoplasty or neck contouring.

 

After surgery your chin may feel minimally tender.  Dr. Dec will prescribe medications to reduce pain and risk of infection.  Patients typically return home the same day. 

 

Bruising around the chin is normal and usually takes one to two weeks to resolve.  Sleeping with your head elevated on two pillows will help reduce swelling.  You may resume mild activities the day after surgery and strenuous activities after one month.  You will see an improved shape of the chin immediately after surgery.  The chin will look natural and fit harmoniously with the face.
